RETROCRUSH

I was scouring Google for a cool picture of The Thing and came across this awesome article written last year by Royal Flush Magazine. The writer had dinner with Frank’s son Ahmet and learned all kinds of great things about the two’s relationship. It makes my heart glow to learn that these two were friends. Such an unlikely pair, but you can only imagine the wonderful conversations they had over cigars. Ahmet recounts many of them, including learning that his father was offered a chance to score music for Star Wars, as well as Kirby’s awareness that Lucas totally ripped off Dr. Doom to create Darth Vader.
