While Marcia was the choice for many a lad growing up watching The Brady Bunch, I was all about Jan. She was certainly the deepest character on the show due in large part to the excellent acting by Eve Plumb. While the other kids had acting struggles that largely consisted of getting in and out of trouble, Eve had to bring an inner turmoil and pain to the role of Jan that was fantastic. She captured “middle kid” syndrome greater than anyone else in TV history. In real life, Marcia wasn’t going to give you the time of day, but Jan was gonna hang out with you. Jan would have caught that football that Marcia took to the nose and throw it back with style.
