retroCRUSH reader RX writes, "By definition, one would want a recording moment
that gave pause for reflection and inspiration. A song that opened with a
vengeance...like an invisible arm grabbing you by the shirt collar and
screaming, 'Hey, ain't this GREAT!?!' The intro to Springsteen's Born To Run
exemplifies that energy. You hear the entire E Street Band launch into the song
like they're hosting their own blue-collar revival meeting. And then Bruce
brings it back to reality with lines of "sweat(ing) it out on the streets of a
runaway American dream".
