#29 "EDGE OF SEVENTEEN"
STEVIE NICKS, 1981

With her raspy gravel laced vocals, Stevie Nicks has one of the
sexiest voices in rock music history. Though her work in Fleetwood Mac is
amazing, its her first solo album, Bella Donna, that contains some of my
favorite work. "Edge of Seventeen" is a great piece from start to finish.
The song is hot from the opening guitar (which was borrowed with Destiny's
Child's "Bootylicious"), and she proceeds to sing the hell out of the tune.
In between the chorus about 60% in to the song, she lets out this ethereal
"Oooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
as if she's some crazy angel screaming at you from the sky that just gets me
every time I hear it. I always wondered if she made that sound during sex,
but when I asked her she said, "get the hell out of my dressing room before I
call the police, freak!"
