#3 "BARRACUDA"
HEART, 1977

In a world of music dominated by men, vintage Heart was some of
the most kick-ass rock ever recorded. Sure, there were guys in the group, too,
but as the album cover pictured above demonstrated, you never thought much about
them as they hid in the background while the powerful, sexy, and immensely
talented Ann and Nancy Wilson worked the forefront. Ann's brilliant voice
was (and still is) full of power. Anyway, enough gushing...on with what we
came here for.
The opening guitar riff in "Barracuda" is punch you in the mouth
rock. It's starting up a Harley and speeding away over the heads of
unconscious bikers. It's having sex on a swing set with 50 quadriplegic
midgets with feathers in their mouth. Ok...I went too far there. But
if you don't believe me, just BUCKLE UP AND
LISTEN!
